Our story

Where it started

We set out to build two-way value exchanges between consumers and brands, and between fans and the things they support. That took us into decentralised technology, because we were exploring how technology could reward and recognise meaningful online contribution.

What we discovered was that we had become very good at spotting meaningful signals in extremely noisy environments. We had to do that across chaotic Discord communities — finding the signals, pulling them together, and turning them into a clear narrative.

That became the business Aartoo is today: finding the story you need to act on.

Timeline

  1. 2022

    Founded in Bristol

    Started as Open Format Technologies, built around rewarding online contribution, not just measuring it.

  2. 2024

    SDKs, APIs, and developer tooling

    Among our clients, we worked with organisations including Paris Saint-Germain and Guild eSports, focused on community intelligence at scale.

  3. 2025

    Launched Aartoo

    A dashboard plus an AI agent you could talk to, to understand what was happening across your audience.

  4. 2026

    From community to audience intelligence

    Expanded into broader audience intelligence, and removed the dashboard and AI agent, because people don't want another dashboard. They want someone to help them make sense of the data.
